Changes Ahead at RoamRig

RoamRig is changing.

RoamRig is transitioning from its current direct-to-consumer model to a smaller operation that sells a streamlined product line exclusively via dealers. Existing appointments at RoamRig HQ in Connecticut will be honored. However, effective immediately, RoamRig will NOT book any new install or repair appointments.

I’d like to share details about why I’ve made this decision and what it means for everyone with a RoamRig product or interest in a RoamRig upgrade.

What started in 2020 with the first Revel power system I created has grown far beyond what I ever imagined. I owe many thanks to all you passionate van owners out there. I am enormously proud of RoamRig and of my team. RoamRig would be nothing without my employees, who wear many hats, and work their butts off.

Even with a capable team, RoamRig requires obsessive attention from me.

Thirteen years ago, my father died suddenly from a heart attack. At that moment, I promised myself that I would prioritize my time on this planet with family and friends over nearly everything else. Now I have a wonderful son who is almost one year old. He is the greatest little dude ever. I know that sounds sappy, but becoming his dad has reminded me why I made that promise in the first place.

By many metrics, RoamRig is fantastic. However, the status quo is not sustainable. It must evolve so I can focus more on myself and on spending the most time possible with my son, family, and friends.

Details about this are still being worked out.

Effective immediately:

Complete Revel Power Systems are discontinued. One of our partner dealers will have limited availability of our remaining stock. Details will be on our FAQ when finalized and we will reach out directly to anyone who has expressed interest in a Revel Power System.
No new appointments with RoamRig. RoamRig will no longer work on customer vehicles directly.
Existing appointments with RoamRig will be honored. If you already have an appointment scheduled, we will honor it. If these changes make you uncomfortable, we completely understand and will cancel your appointment and refund your deposit.
Revel bench seat rotations will be available elsewhere. I am finalizing plans with a shop I trust in New England to offer this product in the future. A current RoamRig employee who has done dozens of these will continue the installations at their facility. It will be seamless for customers: same technician, same design, same suppliers, same product. Details will be on our FAQ when finalized, and we will reach out directly to anyone who has expressed interest in a bench seat rotation.
Beatboxes, alternators, and other products will remain available only via dealers. At this time, only power systems are being retired as a product.

For those who were thinking of future trips to RoamRig for work on your van, wanted a RoamRig power system installed, or wanted to work directly with RoamRig, I am so sorry to disappoint you with these changes.

I know there will be more questions. Please understand we may not be able to respond to them individually in the coming days, but we’ll keep this FAQ up to date as details are finalized.
