Perfect Finishes + Expanded Storage
The RoamRig bench seat upgrade looks like it was installed at the factory — not added later. That's because every visible surface of our cabinetry uses the same laminate and trim as Winnebago.
The upgrade creates more floor space and adds tons of storage, including:
-
An enormous cupboard under the control panel that has adjustable, lipped shelves.
-
An oversized drawer under the seat provides easy access to frequently used items.
-
Dramatically larger storage behind the cushion, accessed through a concealed cabinet door, is ideal for soft goods like blankets, coats, and pillows.
-
A shelf behind the seat to keep all of your most-used electronics and essentials within reach — complete with a nearby outlet for convenient charging. (This is tremendous – check out how much fits on the the shelf using the slider on the below image.)
FAQs
The bench seat itself is brand new, made from high quality 1/2 and 3/4 prefinished plywood, with Winnebago laminate and trim on the visible surfaces.
The control panel wall stays the same and is modified to fit the new cupboard and relocated outlet (so no need to worry about losing your sticker collection above the control panel!). The cushions are also unchanged.
Yes! Mostly. By using the same laminate and trim that Winnebago uses, and carefully modifying the control panel wall to hide blemishes from the stock seat installation, our bench seat rotation looks like it’s straight from the factory with one small exception: a small patch on the floor where the original seat was secured, where the coin pattern of the flooring might not line up perfectly with the existing floor. One option for covering up the patch is a custom Inhabit mat, see below.
Installation is only at RoamRig in Connecticut. This upgrade will NOT be available at our dealers or as a DIY kit.
No. This will not be available as a DIY kit for installation anywhere other than RoamRig in Connecticut.
The RoamRig bench seat rotation works for 2nd and 3rd Generation Revels that have stock power systems or RoamRig power systems. It also works for vans with stock plumbing or the RoamRig plumbing upgrade. We can also do power system and plumbing upgrades when we rotate your seat – ask us about bundle discounts!
If other modifications have been made to the systems under your bench seat, this upgrade will probably still work for you! Please reach out to start the conversation and share photos of your van.
Our bench seat rotation is for 2nd and 3rd Generation Revels, which is any Revel with a 12V Lithionics-based power system (‘21, ‘22, ‘23, ‘24, and ‘25 Sport 44N models).
This upgrade requires a significant amount of specialized tooling, jigs, and gauges to achieve the level of fit, finish, and trim matching we expect—especially to properly match Winnebago factory materials. Outfitting multiple shops with this equipment would substantially increase the cost of the upgrade, and we would still be unable to guarantee consistent quality.
By performing this work exclusively at RoamRig HQ in Connecticut, we can control every step of the process, ensure installations are high-quality, and offer a great price for the installation.
No, this rotation does not include seatbelts. Seatbelts are designed to work when you are sitting facing forward. RV seatbelts are questionable to begin with. RoamRig is not in the business of creating or installing seatbelts that are meant to keep a passenger safe in any way.
A Lagun-style table mount. The side of the rotated bench seat is very thick to provide a secure surface for the mount. This is not included, and if you’d like one, we can add it during the installation.
If you already have a Lagun-style mount, please bring it with you! It is much easier to for us mount on the bench while the seat area is opened up, before everything is installed back into your van.
If you do not have a lagune-style mount, we'll have them in stock at the shop and you can decide if you'd like to add it when you arrive for your upgrade.
Pictured below: a lagun-style table mount with a CAV Jenna 2.0 table top (which we also have available at our shop).
The bench seat is designed to use the standard Winnebago seat cushions that came with your van. If you have aftermarket or upgraded cushions that are thicker, they may interfere with opening the cabinet door in the wall.
Yes, Inhabit will make a custom mat for your new floorplan after the bench seat rotation – we highly recommend adding it!
The new mat is NOT included in the price for the seat rotation. However, we can order/install a new matt for your if you contact us in advance to make arrangements.
No. We intentionally chose not to include a fold-out bed in this design. Fold-out systems typically require storing extra cushions, add overall height, and reduce usable storage. They can also make the installation feel less solid over time.
Our priority is a clean, durable, and highly-functional setup that maximizes storage and everyday usability. We do not currently offer a fold-out bed option and do not have plans to add one at this time. Customers are welcome to fabricate or add an ottoman-style solution separately.
No. We keep costs down by ordering and preparing large production runs of supplies, which doesn't allow for customization.
We are actively considering how to do this for 1st Gen Revels, but we don’t have a timeline or estimated cost yet. If we do offer a seat rotation for 1st Gen Revels, some things are certain: it will have little to no added storage and the driver's seat will not rotate once the bench seat is turned.
